ABOUT

Nikki Tran is a writer and screen producer based in Naarm/Melbourne, Australia.

Her filmmaking roots began in community arts, and she has since been working to bring a deeper sense of cultural nuance and bolder storytelling in Australia. In the past, her producing credits include online series LIL CEEBS (Signal Arts IGTV, 2021), bilingual interpreting comedy GIRL, INTERPRETED (2020) which was acquired by China’s streaming giants Tencent Video and iQiyi, and was writer and co-producer of FRESH! (2018) a drama-comedy set in a fresh food market currently in further development for half-hour television. Nikki has screenwriting credits on ABC ME’s tween political series THE PM’s DAUGHTER and also worked on ABC’s factual series CAN YOU HEAR ME?

Amongst creating original work and supporting others’ voices, Nikki is a scripted development producer at Fremantle Australia. Previously, she has worked in development with ABC Drama & Comedy, Matchbox Pictures, Tony Ayres Productions, 2Jons and VicScreen. Her creative practice has received generous support from VicScreen’s Screen Development Internship, Footscray Community Arts’ West Writers, Malthouse Theatre's Writers' Development program, AFTRS Talent Camp, and State Library of Victoria’s Creative Fellowship.
